Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg scored a career-high 37 points and dished out six assists to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 124-112 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers at Chase Center in San Francisco on Sunday night, extending Golden State’s winning streak to four games.

The Warriors won without stars Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, who rested for the front end of a back-to-back.

Lendeborg shot 13 for 19 — 6 of 11 from 3-point range — and scored five straight points midway through the third quarter that gave Golden State its biggest lead to that point at 83-68.

His 37 points were the most by a Warriors rookie since Curry scored 42 against Portland on April 14, 2010. Lendeborg joined Wilt Chamberlain and Rick Barry as the only Warriors players to record multiple 30-point games within their first seven games with the franchise.

It was his fourth game with at least 20 points, following a difficult outing against the Lakers on Friday in which he fouled out.

De’Anthony Melton added 21 points on 6-of-8 shooting from 3-point range, while Brandin Podziemski finished with 17 points, eight rebounds and eight assists. Brandon Williams scored 17 points off the bench as Golden State’s reserves combined for 40 points.

The Warriors shot 53% from the field and 45% from beyond the arc, making 22 three-pointers, and recorded 32 assists compared with 22 for Los Angeles. Rui Hachimura led the Clippers with 24 points on 10-of-16 shooting, while Kobe Sanders scored 16 off the bench.

Los Angeles fell to 1-5 after its fifth consecutive defeat. The Clippers opened with a 37-point first quarter and led 37-29 after 12 minutes, but Golden State answered with a 34-20 second quarter to take a 63-57 halftime advantage and maintained control after the break.

Both teams played the first game of a back-to-back. The Warriors welcome the Phoenix Suns, while the Clippers host Toronto. Yaxel Okari Lendeborg is an American-Dominican basketball player.

He was picked 11th overall in the 2026 NBA draft and played college basketball for Arizona Western, UAB and Michigan. He was an NCAA national champion, consensus All-American and the Big Ten Player of the Year with Michigan in 2026.
