Mumbai Indians are seeking two players from Kolkata Knight Riders in exchange for captain Hardik Pandya ahead of the IPL 2027 auction, NDTV reported. The five-time IPL champions have named pacer Harshit Rana and young wicket-keeper batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi as their demands, while Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings remain in discussions for a trade move for the all-rounder.

The Trade Demands

KKR remain in the hunt to secure a trade deal with Mumbai Indians for star all-rounder Hardik Pandya ahead of the IPL 2027 auction.

According to a report by The Telegraph, five-time IPL champions MI have demanded pacer Harshit Rana and young wicket-keeper batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi in exchange for Pandya. Harshit was a crucial cog in KKR's IPL 2024-winning team.

However, it is not clear whether KKR are willing to let them go for Hardik.

KKR's Non-Negotiables

As per the report, the Knight Riders did not show much interest in Pandya after the initial round of talks with Mumbai Indians amid concerns over the all-rounder's fitness and injuries. There were also seemingly apprehensions over the player's entourage, which accompanies him at all venues.

Other Franchises in the Race

Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are emerging as the other franchises in discussions for a trade move for Hardik Pandya. MI reportedly wanted Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ravi Bishnoi from the Royals, but there was little progress in that move. For CSK, progress depends on appointing a new head coach, WION said.

Hardik Pandya's Profile

Hardik Himanshu Pandya is an Indian international cricketer who plays for the Indian cricket team. He is an all-rounder who is a right-handed middle-order batsman and right arm fast-medium bowler. He is considered one of the best all-rounders in the world in white-ball cricket.

Pandya is the first fast-bowling all-rounder in T20Is to complete 1,000 runs and 100 wickets. He captains Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League and occasionally plays for Baroda in domestic cricket.

He has captained the Indian team in white-ball cricket and was the vice-captain of the team that won the 2024 T20 World Cup.

What Happens Next

Talks are reportedly set to resume in the coming week, but KKR's stance on Raghuvanshi seemingly holds the key in the deal going through. The IPL 2027 auction is scheduled for December 16 in Goa, with the retention deadline on November 15, NDTV reported.
