PV Sindhu reached the Hylo Open 2026 women’s singles final after beating compatriot Anmol Kharb in straight games. Sportstar reported that Sindhu won 21-13, 21-16 at the Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken on Saturday. The match lasted 32 minutes, according to Lokmat Times.

The all-Indian semifinal carried extra weight because the winner was guaranteed a place in the final of a BWF Super 500 tournament. Sindhu came into the match as the second seed and a two-time Olympic medallist. Lokmat Times noted she was fresh from a runner-up finish at the French Open the previous week.

Sindhu led 11-9 at the interval in the first game after Kharb had taken an early 6-5 advantage. Sportstar said Sindhu used long, high-looping clears and her reach to push Kharb deep into the court. She closed out the opening game 21-13.

The second game began level at 6-6 before Sindhu took control with strong overhead clears and sharp cross-court drops. Kharb probed with net touches but could not settle against Sindhu’s power from the baseline. The Indian sealed the match 21-16 to book her place in the title clash.

Kharb, aged 19, was featuring in just her second Super 500 semifinal, having reached the last four of the Arctic Open in 2025, according to News18. She was also part of India’s gold medal-winning squad at the 2024 Asia Team Championships. Sindhu and Anmol had met just once before, at the 2024 Syed Modi India International, where Sindhu won in straight games.

Sindhu will face Denmark’s Line Kjaersfeldt in the final on Sunday. Kjaersfeldt reached the decider after an 82-minute battle against Thailand’s Pornpawee Chochuwong, winning 8-21, 21-19, 28-26, as reported by Lokmat Times. News18 said Sindhu will aim for her first title of the season against the eighth seed from Denmark.

PV Sindhu is a two-time Olympic medallist and former world champion who has regularly reached the latter stages of BWF World Tour events. The Hylo Open is a Super 500 tournament sponsored by Hylo since 2021.
