India completed a 3-0 T20I series sweep over Zimbabwe after a 92-run victory in the third match in Raipur on Tuesday.

Harmanpreet Kaur’s unbeaten 91 off 41 balls and Shafali Verma’s 69 off 37 balls powered India to 216 for 7 after the hosts won the toss and chose to bat.

India’s openers Shafali Verma and Anushka Sharma added 54 runs for the first wicket before Anushka was dismissed for a 20-ball 28. Shafali reached her second half-century of the series and was eventually out for 69.

Skipper Smriti Mandhana did not bat, opting to push herself down the order to give other players an opportunity.

Harmanpreet and Shafali shared an 84-run partnership as India built a commanding total.

Zimbabwe chase falls short

Zimbabwe’s reply began poorly as Kelis Ndhlovu and Modester Mupachikwa were removed inside the first two overs, leaving the visitors at 12 for 2.

Beloved Biza and Sharne Mayers added 82 runs for the third wicket from 78 deliveries, but Zimbabwe could not accelerate and finished on 124 for 7 from 20 overs.

Nandani Sharma finished with figures of 3 for 18 and was the pick of the Indian bowlers. Kranti Gaud, Arundhati Reddy, Niki Prasad and Deepti Sharma each took a wicket.

This is India’s 11th consecutive win in the format.
