PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen both won singles titles at the Hylo Open 2026 in Saarbrücken, Germany, on Sunday, 1 November, delivering double glory for Indian badminton.

Sindhu became the first Indian woman to win the Hylo Open women's singles crown, beating Denmark's Line Højmark Kjærsfeldt 21-12, 21-14 in the final.

Lakshya Sen defeated defending champion Jonatan Christie of Indonesia 21-17, 21-10 to claim the men's singles crown for the second time, becoming the first Indian across any category to win the Hylo Open title twice. It was Lakshya's first BWF title of the year.

Sindhu entered her second BWF tournament final in as many weeks after reaching the French Open final, and clinched her first title since the Japan Open in July.

The double Olympic medallist, who is currently 12th in the BWF women's rankings, had previously failed to break her jinx against South Korea's world number one An Se-young, going down to her for the 11th consecutive time at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.

Sindhu said it had been a great week where she could execute her plans and that now was the time to go back and relax.

She has decided to skip the next two weeks on the tour — the Korea Open from 3 to 8 November and the Japan Masters from 10 to 15 November.

Lakshya Sen will lead India's challenge at the Korea Open 2026, a USD 500,000 BWF Super 500 tournament, where he will be one of India's major medal prospects.
