Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja and Prasidh Krishna are set to play India A’s third and final four-day match against New Zealand A in Lincoln, beginning on Saturday, as they prepare for India’s upcoming two-Test series against New Zealand.

The match provides the final red-ball tune-up before the first Test gets underway in Wellington on November 19.

Bumrah last played in the Asian Games final on October 3 and was not picked for the ongoing five-match ODI series against New Zealand as part of workload management, with his preparation focused on red-ball cricket.

Prasidh Krishna is returning from a hamstring injury that kept him out of the ODI series; his last appearance was against the West Indies in Guwahati on September 30. Jadeja arrives after scoring a century and taking seven wickets in two Ranji Trophy matches for Saurashtra.

Having lost his place in India’s ODI plans, he will look to carry that form into the four-day contest. Both previous matches between India A and New Zealand A ended in draws.

Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel have been among the leading run-scorers in the series, while Yashasvi Jaiswal struck an unbeaten 155 in the second match at Hagley Oval. All-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, released from the ODI squad after the opening match, is also expected to feature.

India A were dismissed for 113 in the first innings of the series opener before recovering to post 516 in the second innings. New Zealand A will be without pacers Simon Keene and Fraser Sheat, who sustained injuries during the earlier matches.

India’s first Test against New Zealand begins in Wellington on November 19.
