Pakistan have recalled Salman Ali Agha and Ali Usman for their two-match home Test series against Sri Lanka, Sportstar reported. India Today said the series takes place in November. Babar Azam will lead the 14-member squad as Pakistan look to improve their standing in the World Test Championship.

Recalled players and squad changes

Salman Ali Agha and Ali Usman were among seven players sent home after the second Test of Pakistan’s tour of England earlier this year, Sportstar said. England completed a 3-0 series sweep after winning at Lord’s. India Today reported that Agha was dropped and sent back home mid-way through the England tour. Agha has since made an impressive return to domestic and international cricket, scoring a triple century in a first-class fixture and following it with a hundred. Sportstar said Muhammad Rizwan drops out while under inquiry over allegations of online betting, gambling and leaking dressing-room information, though he has been allowed to play domestic cricket. Abdullah Shafique, Imam ul-Haq and Saim Ayub also leave the side. Young wicketkeeper Ghazi Ghori keeps his place.

Uncapped players and venues

Sportstar said there are three uncapped batters in Mohammad Taha, Sameer Minhas and Mohammad Suleman, who have done well at domestic level. Razaullah is also included after his heroics in the third Test made headlines. The first Test will be played in Rawalpindi from November 9 to 13. The second Test will take place in Lahore from November 17 to 21.
