## Article

Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has backed Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi for ODI opportunities, saying not regularly picking them in the ODI squad does not do justice to their immense talent.

Yuvraj made the comments to PTI on the sidelines of the launch event of Protocol 32 in Mumbai.

"I would love to see him (Abhishek) in the ODIs, to be honest, and I have said this before that if we are not picking guys like Ishan Kishan, Abhishek and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in 50-over cricket, then somewhere down the line we are not doing justice to their talent," Yuvraj said.

However, Yuvraj acknowledged that the presence of senior players in the side makes it difficult for young batters to find places. "I understand we have some great players and it is hard to make a spot for them," he said.

"I think the way they (young batters) are performing, hopefully, they should be in the squad soon. Whatever he (Abhishek) has achieved is because of his hard work, and credit goes to him," he added.

The sources did not specify a selection date or venue for any upcoming ODI squad announcement.

## Context

Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi are young batters who have been performing in white-ball cricket, according to Yuvraj. He said their talent deserves recognition and that they should be in the ODI squad soon.

India’s ODI squad already includes established senior batters, which Yuvraj said creates strong competition for places. The 50-over format remains the context for his comments, as he specifically referred to picking players in ODIs and 50-over cricket.

No earlier match results, individual records, or details about the competition structure were provided in the sources.
