## Article

India holds the Guinness World Record for the most men's Kabaddi World Cup wins, with six titles secured between 2010 and 2016. The country hosted and won all six circle style tournaments during that span, culminating in a 62-20 victory over England in the 2016 final.

## Kabaddi World Cup winners list

Sportsadda's records show India won the men's circle style World Cup in Ludhiana in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, followed by a win in Sri Muktsar Sahib in 2014 and Jalalabad in 2016.

Pakistan ended India's run by winning the 2020 edition in Lahore with a 43-41 scoreline. The women's circle style tournament began in 2013, with India winning all three editions held through 2016.

India defeated New Zealand in Ludhiana in 2013 and Sri Muktsar Sahib in 2014, then beat the United States 45-10 in Jalalabad in 2016.

## Standard style Kabaddi World Cup results

India also won all three standard style men's World Cup editions in 2004, 2007 and 2016, defeating Iran in each final. The 2004 final in Mumbai ended 55-27, while Panvel in 2007 finished 29-19 and Ahmedabad in 2016 finished 38-29.

The inaugural 2004 tournament used a format of five teams split into two pools, round-robin games, and semi-finals for the top two from each group. India's 28-point margin in the 2004 final remains the widest in an IKF men's final.

## Why it matters

Guinness World Records credited India with six men's Kabaddi World Cup wins on 17 November 2016. The record covers the circle style tournaments held from 2010 to 2014 and in 2016, all hosted by India.
