The visitors made a strong start, taking the lead in the sixth minute when Rodriguinho picked out Fortes inside the penalty area and the forward converted from close range with a left-footed finish past Inter Kashi goalkeeper Shubham Dhas. Inter Kashi responded by creating opportunities from set pieces, with Pratik Chaudhari and Leewan Castanha coming close with headers, though the home side was unable to capitalise on its chances. Inter Kashi came closest to equalising shortly before half-time when Chaudhari’s header struck the post, allowing Delhi to take its slender advantage into the break. The host continued to search for an equaliser after the restart but struggled to convert its attacking opportunities, while Delhi remained dangerous on the counterattack, although Peña failed to make the most of an opening inside the box. Delhi doubled its lead in the 74th minute when Manoj Mohammed delivered a cross into the penalty area and Peña rose to meet the delivery, directing his header into the net to make it 2-0. Delhi added a third goal in the 88th minute when Rodriguinho, who had earlier assisted the opener, completed the scoring with a left-footed finish. Despite creating several opportunities, particularly in the opening half, Inter Kashi could not find a breakthrough as Delhi held on to secure all three points away from home. Mint said the win moved SC Delhi clear of Inter Kashi in the early stages of the campaign, and that the three points keep the visitors in a healthy position as the Indian Super League season progresses.
